Our drive for a sustainable future isn't just about protecting our environment, it's also about creating opportunity for people and communities to thrive.
It's a demonstration of how we walk the talk within our business, commonly known as our footprint.
We seek to continually improve our footprint, and we're doing this through our ongoing efforts focused on:
- maximising outcomes for the people and communities we represent
- minimising the negative impacts of our business operations
Our belief is that the more diverse we are in our ideas, backgrounds, and experiences, the better and stronger we are in working together to build a positive future.
We therefore remain committed to growing an environment where our people have equal opportunity to build a career that reflects their ability and passions, and where they feel they belong, and can thrive.
And we remain focused on supporting the wellbeing of our employees through dedicated health and safety, and wellbeing programmes, and delivering safer designs for our communities using our Safety in Design approach.
Reducing our carbon emissions is another important element of our footprint.
We measure and publicly report on emissions associated with our corporate operations and continue to look for effective ways to reduce these emissions. Through this work, we are identifying ways in which we can support staff to make better decisions each day to take climate action.
In New Zealand, we are one of the 60 founding signatories of the Climate Leaders Coalition and support the 2022 Statement of Ambition to take meaningful action to respond to climate change.

Delivering positive outcomes
Prioritising health and safety
Together we're responsible for our own safety and wellbeing, the safety of those that we work with and for promoting safe work practices while at work.
Embracing diversity
Fostering a diverse and inclusive business means valuing difference, supporting a gender balance, and enhancing cultural diversity. At Beca, we celebrate our differences and embrace our people and their creativity.
Upholding community partnerships
Through enhanced supplier diversity across our supply chain, and bringing together different world views, we are working towards better, more equitable outcomes for our communities.
Reducing our carbon emissions
Our footprint commitment extends to ways we can reduce our carbon emissions and minimise negative impact on the environment. Direct emissions include our company owned vehicles and office energy consumption, and indirect emissions include aspects such as the goods and services we purchase, our use of subconsultants, employee commuting and working from home. We continue to collaborate with our clients, and partners to explore new technologies and innovative solutions which will help us progress towards a low carbon future.
