Rest of the worldWe are delighted to share Rachel Fowler and Luke Huxtable have been named finalists for the prestigious 2022 Consult Australia Awards for Excellence.
Rachel, Beca General Manager – Transport & Infrastructure and Luke, Associate – Civil Engineering in our Australian Airports Team, have been nominated for the incredible results they’ve achieved on community-shaping projects across the country.
They have been shortlisted for the following awards:
Rachel Fowler - Champions of Change: Female Leadership
This award recognises a mid or senior level female professional who has demonstrated leadership capabilities and/or is championing change within her firm or in the industry more broadly.
Rachel has worked tirelessly since becoming General Manager in 2019, to grow our Australian Transport & Infrastructure business into a respected, 115 strong team with a reputation for excellence in project delivery and customer care. She also actively makes everyday better for her team, levelling the playing field by championing part-time work for both female and male employees. In her spare time, she’s involved in numerous extra-curricular activities, including as NSW Representative for the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) where she supports young professionals in developing their Civil Engineering careers.
Under her watch, Beca has secured significant, noteworthy projects – including Melbourne Airport’s Third Runway, the Maribyrnong River Bridge Package of Melbourne Airport Rail and the Swanson Dock West Remediation.
Luke Huxtable – Future Leader
This award acknowledges professional staff of member firms aged 35 years and under who have made a significant contribution to their firm and added value in a demonstrable way.
A proactive and passionate professional, Luke has continuously pursued opportunities to develop his career and advance the cause of Airport Engineering across Australia. Since joining Beca in 2019 he’s seized the opportunities provided by our Transport & Infrastructure business, gaining considerable experience as a Project Manager on the National Aircraft Pavement Maintenance Programme and Contract Administrator’s Representative on the Melbourne Airport Pavement Maintenance Program projects.
About the Consult Australia Awards
Consult Australia is the industry association that proudly represents small, medium and large businesses in the design, advisory and engineering professions. The Consult Australia Awards for Excellence were established to celebrate excellence amongst firms and individuals who practice in these sectors.
