Beca is one of five organisations awarded a grant by ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation) to progress an innovative project in the health and safety space. We will be working collaboratively with Construction Health and Safety NZ (CHASNZ) to develop an immersive virtual reality induction programme for the buildings sector.
The grants are part of ACC’s new $22m injury prevention incentive programme for businesses over the next five years.
Mike Quirk, Business Director New Ventures – Buildings said, “We’re excited about the opportunities this grant opens up, allowing us to accelerate the VR program and its benefits to the industry. Health and safety is a priority within the construction sector, so we are really motivated to use our experience of VR technology to enhance safety learning in the workplace.”
