ENZ Auckland Centennial Award winners Ian Billings and Phoebe Moses

Hearty congratulations to both Ian Billings, who received the Luminary Award for Contribution to the Auckland region, and Phoebe Moses, who was presented with the Outstanding Emerging Professional Award, at the Engineering New Zealand Auckland Branch Centennial Awards last night. Over 400 people attended the ENZ Auckland Brand Centennial celebration at the Pullman Hotel.

Ian Billings, Senior Technical Director in Auckland’s Civil Structures team, was recognised for his substantial contribution to Auckland’s infrastructure over the four decades of his career, including replacement of the Newmarket Viaduct, strengthening of the Auckland Harbour Bridge as well as contributions to the seismic resilience of infrastructure around New Zealand.
 
Phoebe Moses, Structural Engineer with Beca’s buildings team, was recognised for championing diversity in engineering and her passion for social and environmental sustainability. The Outstanding Emerging Professional Award is given to a person in the early stages their career who both inspires others and shows extraordinary enthusiasm to contribute to engineering.

Ian Billings has made an immense contribution to Auckland and to Beca, as well as leading in seismic expertise and sharing this both domestically and internationally. A personal thank you to Ian for the years of sage advice he has provided throughout my career and on behalf of the whole Beca family. Congratulations also to Phoebe Moses who is a person of immense talent and is already making everyday better for our communities through her social and environmental sustainability contributions.”
